This information will explain how to properly troubleshoot 3x3 Display TV Monitors on the main floor at our clubs.
POWER
The 3x3 will have a small IR receiver on the TOP LEFT side which will then send the signal to each monitor to turn on when the power button on the remote* is pressed. Please note you need to aim high and press this button ONE time only and you will hear a loud *CLICK noise.
Sometimes the remote is phillips brand. There are Normal and ID modes on some of these remotes. Make sure it is on Normal mode.
Wait at minimum of 30 - 60 seconds...
Each monitor will then turn on in a snake like formation. Once they have powered on they will automatically begin to search for a video signal from the cable box under the DVI-D input. Please make sure the cable-box is powered on. DO NOT panic if they do not display a channel they will automatically shut back off on their own after about 20 seconds of not picking up a video signal.(Please see Cable-Box section if only some display an image )
NOTE: Even if the cable-box channels are not working , the TV Monitors should still turn on and display the "No Channels Available Please call Service provider for Assistance 1-800-***** " . Meaning there is still a video signal coming from the cable box to the 3x3 displaying an image for us.
IMPORTANT!!! Whether a TV Monitor Screen is On or Off , Displaying an Image or Not , pressing the POWER Button on the remote will send the signal through the IR cable and snake through each single display .The Monitors can then be out of sync if POWER Button is pressed multiple times in a short period of time where some are now on and others are off... This will then require to cut power to the 3x3 display on the BREAKER BOX to reset each screen( Please contact GM or Maintenance for this step)
CABLE-BOX
The cable-box also on the TOP LEFT side of the 3x3 Display will need to be POWERED on before we press the POWER Button on the TV remote and this is because the Monitors will need a video signal to display in order for them to NOT turn off automatically.
The video signal will be sent from the cable-box and snake through each TV Monitor via an HDMI-DVI-D Converter Cable (Completely different snake line from the IR Receiver that powers on the TVs).
IMPORTANT!!! Being that the 3x3 Display TV is wired in a snake formation , if the previous display is not displaying an image then by default the video signal will not pass through to that monitor and the TV Monitor will automatically power off in about 15 seconds of looking for the signal.
NOTE: DVI-D is the default input setting for all 9 TV Monitors. This is the only input channel the video signal will be picked up!
