Myzone Troubleshooting

Studio Red

The Myzone system in Studio Red consists of 2 Myzone tablets and 4 displays. One Myzone tablet sends video to 2 of the displays and the other sends video to the other 2 displays. For our purposes we will label the Myzone tablets Tablet A and Tablet B and the displays 1 through 4. Tablet A will facilitate displays 1 and 2 and Tablet B will facilitate displays 3 and 4. See diagram below:

Between each set of tablet/display there will be 5 devices that carry the signal from the tablet to the display. The tablet will be connected to an HDMI splitter via HDMI cable. This device “splits” the signal to facilitate 2 separate displays and is shown below:

The HDMI cable from the tablet will be plugged into the “HDMI IN” port. HDMI cables will be plugged into both the “HDMI OUT1” and “HDMI OUT2” ports and will be connected to HDMI over CAT5 transmitters pictured below:

Typical Troubleshooting Steps

  1. If only one display in the set is showing “no signal” try power cycling the HDMI over CAT5 receiver behind the TV.
  2. If both displays are showing “no signal”, first make sure the corresponding tablet is turned on.
  3. If the tablet is functioning as normal, try power cycling the HDMI splitter.
  4. If you are still seeing “no signal” try power cycling the corresponding HDMI over CAT5 transmitter.
  5. If these steps do not work, check all cable connections to make sure they’re secure. You can also try unplugging the cables and plugging them back in.
  6. If the TVs are not getting power notify maintenance.
  7. If the TVs are powering on but the screen is very dim or completely black, this is likely due to a bad backlight. Notify maintenance.

Continue below for Myzone floor configuration.

Main Floor

Myzone displays will be in various locations on the main floor of the club. These are operated by a Myzone computer “stick”. This is a small form factor mini computer and will be located behind the associated display. Pictured below:

These will typically be connected to the display via a female to male HDMI adapter. An ethernet USB hub will be connected to the computer which facilitates an ethernet connection and the wireless Myzone receiver. Pictured below:
